I just grepped for newsticker and taviewer in midcom-trunk and found quite a few references to these two components. About half of them is in comments (so this would fall under the category "Better Documentation"), and the other half I cannot really say (for example, references in lucene xml files and makedist2.sh), but some are definately errors (for example, in o.o.projects, there is code to create a newsticker topic). Since both components have been removed before MidCOM 2.6, it would be good to finally get rid of them or replace them by n.n.blog or n.n.static.
